Role Summary/Purpose

The Project Supply Chain Specialist will manage project global supply chain, responsible for both internal & external suppliers, material procurement, on time delivery, applying sourcing policy, and interface between supplier and internal cross-functional teams. This role requires mastery of broader supply chain and supplier management.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Project Supply Chain Specialist, you will:

  • Achieve the lowest possible cost for material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs
  • Perform some or all of the required functions from initiation of intent to purchase to place and follow-up on purchase orders, to the satisfactory delivery of material or service
  • Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other required documents to assure orderly administration and retention of records
  • Resolve purchase parts issues, such as invoice discrepancies, return of nonconforming material, and schedule changes
  • Update Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), including but not limited to maintaining material master & material BOM
  • Balance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects
  • Specify needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done
  • Provide technical / commercial assistance to Commodity Buyers to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge
  • Advise functional managers regarding projects, processes and procedures in the own field
  • Lead and work with different functions for the overall execution of Projects in North America
  • Be the local point of contact with Projects, Product Engineering, Requisition Engineering, Engineering, Global Operations, and Global Operations team members to accomplish actions and resolve issues for the North American Supply Chain. This includes (but not limited to) actions involving Finance, Tax, Sourcing and Logistics scope of work
  • Support Logistics to place purchase orders, coordinate the shipments and customs, perform purchase requisition and liaise with local suppliers to expedite quotation/document submission

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (OR a High School Diploma with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Supply Chain)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain

  • Six Sigma or equivalent training
