Role Summary/Purpose

The Project Manager Team leader will lead and direct project managers and teams in regards to the development and execution of Government projects; ensure customer satisfaction, develop relationships, protect the Company’s position, maximize the projects objective, insure compliance with Government contractual requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Project Manager Team Leader, you will:

  • Lead and direct project managers and related teams and insure overall execution for Government projects
  • Communicate and implement the project strategy with project team members
  • Ensure necessary support is obtained from Engineering and other functions in order to meet the project objectives and/or milestones
  • Establish and agree on a schedule of activities leading to the completion of the contract with clear milestones, deliverables and acceptance defined criteria
  • Produce and maintain the project management plan
  • Ensure adequate progress and financial reviews are undertaken
  • Keep Senior Management informed of project progression and highlights any major concerns / issues / successes as they arise
  • Prepare and present formal presentations in order to communicate project progression, issues, risks and opportunities to management
  • Manage the day-to-day interface with the customer and ensure all communication is effectively controlled
  • Ensure the project team is effectively structured and the roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, coordinated and understood
  • Work to ensure that the impact of claims and variations are limited / reduced
  • Manage the changes, errors and omissions to reduce the effects on the project
  • Ensure the Company’s commercial and contractual position is not compromised
  • Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management or other technical discipline (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years in an engineering discipline)
  • Minimum of 8 years of direct experience in an engineering industry and a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management
  • Additional Elgibility Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties
  • Proven ability to interact and communicate with internal and external customers; internal customers include peers, management, and personnel from other departments and entities; external customers include clients, customers, and vendors
  • Strong PC skills required, including use of standard MS Office applications
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and MS Project, Primavera or similar scheduling application, required. Experience with database creation and operation, useful but not required
  • Demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity
  • Demonstrated self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the internal and external customers
  • Ability to draft professional documents with no supervision
  • Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals, essential
  • Ability to make recommendations regarding job methods and departmental procedures
  • Ability to independently arrange and organize work efforts on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a consistent basis and effectively maintain schedules and milestones
  • Able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly
  • Ability to conceptualize and implement performance objectives that meet established requirements
