We are currently seeking a Corporate Paralegal

Essential Functions

  • Aid In-House Counsel with all administrative claims (EEOC, Wage Claims, etc.) as well as other types of litigation.
  • Respond to a variety of legal document requests including subpoenas
  • Work with In-House Counsel as well as outside counsel by organizing documents required, including legal research, running reports and pulling data, responding to discovery, interviewing witnesses, and drafting correspondence.
  • Scheduling conference calls, assisting the assigned attorney in important deadlines and case updates.
  • Answers calls and/or e-mails from field operations, customers, and corporate staff ensuring all are given prompt customer service.
  • Ensures that data is properly entered into the Legal Department’s case management system.
  • Ensures all responsible legal files are up to date, organized, and properly stored in relation to all ongoing document retention policies and legal hold notices.
  • Update and maintain standardized correspondence.
  • Responsible for maintaining company trademark files and assisting outside counsel to obtain new trademarks.
  • Coordinate responses to WARN related layoffs.
  • Acknowledge and circulate service of process.
  • Assist In-House Counsel with any other related administrative duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and have internet experience.
  • Must have excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Must have strong initiative and ability to follow-through.
  • Must have experience with EEOC and wage and hour litigation or relevant experience.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand legal documents.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Must have the ability to effectively interact and build relationships with a diverse employee population.
  • Must have the ability to investigate a case and appropriately respond to case allegations.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong research skills.
  • Must be honest, direct and have high ethical standards.
  • Must have a paralegal degree or relevant experience.
