The role of the Authorization Specialist is to follow up on revenue cycle authorizations in a timely manner. This position functions in a relatively fast paced environment and works within the structure of a billing and reimbursement team. This role reports to the Manager of Billing and Reimbursement in a quickly growing Specialty Pharmacy.


  • Responsible for obtaining authorization information from insurance carriers for all PANTHERx patients.
  • Documenting the authorization information in SWFT, our patient management platform
  • Assist with billing and reimbursement team projects as needed

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of pharmacy revenue cycle

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to two years of billing reimbursement or authorization follow-up

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
